Another way to drive traffic to your website is by starting a blog for your business. Great! But where do you start? Other than creating content, what else do you need to get your blog launched on to the world wide web?

Business blogging is a marketing tactic that uses blogging to get your business more online visibility . Blogging is the act of creating short-form content. Your blog posts are about a particular subject matter related to your business

How do I start a Business Blog?
If you have a website already, most providers have a blog option included on their website, and even use the same software to create blog pages. Something to be cognizant of is any restrictions in terms of design, functionality and SEO which may or may not impact the successfulness of your business blog.
If you don’t have a website and you’re starting from scratch, you will need to select and register for a domain name. Try to choose a ‘.com’ or ‘.ca’ domain (as opposed to .net, .biz, etc.), if possible, and use your trademarked business name if it’s available.
Next up, you will need to pay to have your blog hosted which will cost more than the domain rental. There are a number of web hosting services on the market. Do your research!
Continuing on, you’ll want to choose a blog platform theme. Ideally, you’ll want a blog platform that allows you to easily customize the look and feel of your blog. A number of things to consider is the responsivity of customer support, the ability to customize and finally, how will the blog displays on a number of different devices (i.e. desktop, tablets and mobile devices).
Now comes the fun part and ultimately the reason you decided to start business blog in the first place. Before you dive in, however, it’s important to think about the purpose of your blog:
• What is your main objective? Is it to get leads, build your email list or become an expert in your field?
• How often will you commit to blogging? Two to three times a month is ideal, but blogging once a month is better than nothing.
• What’s the “voice” of your blog? Casual and fun? Authoritative? Academic?
• How will you get your readers to take action while on your blog? An email opt-in box? A link to a sales page? Or a call to action to fill out a request for a quote?
