In the previous three blog posts, we have reviewed the impact 'On-page Factors', 'Off-page Factors', and 'Site Factors' have on Google search rankings.
Finally, we will be looking at 'Domain Factors'.
Your Domain can also affect your Google rankings. Some of the domain signals aren't as strong as they once were. Here are a few things worth of review:
- Length of time the Domain has been registered. Google considers domains registered for more than 12 months as more trustworthy.
- The history of the Domain. Did you take the Domain over from someone else? If there have been some penalties in the past, this history might affect its current rankings.
- Country TLD extension. Suppose you are trying to target a specific local market. In that case, it is said that having a domain with a country-specific TLD (.uk. .au or .ca for instance) will help to achieve better rankings for that location.
If any of the above-described items have identified an issue with your current Domain, we are here to help!
